"My website must accessible"
Accessibility is a word that is often used by people without them really appreciating what they are asking for. Most people think of visually impaired people using a website, but for a website to be truely accessible that means that anyone, whatever their disability or disadvantage, should be able to use your website.
Some examples:
- Visually impaired visitors
- Deaf visitors
- Visitors with motor skills difficulties
- Learning difficulties e.g. Dyslexia
- Those speaking different languages
In reality this isn't what most website owners mean or want. All my templates are tableless and designed and developed with visually impaired users in mind. However both Joomla and 3rd party extensions do output tables in places and my templates to do include removing these unless you specifically request this. If you require template overrides to remove these tables (where pratical) then this will increase the cost of your template and site development.
You may also want to consider providing multi-lingual versions of your website and even a speaking website.
If you have specific requirement or an exiting policy please forward these with your website design questionairre.
